Last year, at the age of 20, he ran a surprisingly fast 48.16 at an early-season competition in Osaka after a training camp in South Africa. However, he was not able to hold his condition throughout the season, and was eliminated in the semifinals in Edmonton.
This year, Plawgo has structured his season differently, waiting until mid-June to run his first hurdle race, a 48.26 win in Ostrava.
In the 2002 indoor season, he already had demonstrated marked improvement by repeated lowerings of his flat 400m PB, from 46.01 to 45.49 to 45.39, the last clocking coming in winning the European Indoor championships. He was also a member of Poland’s championship 4x400 relay at those same championships.
Your indoor times indicate that with good hurdle technique, you should be able to run in the mid-47 second range outdoors over the 400 hurdles. Is this reasonable with your current time goals?
