Sweden's European Championships team has high hopes
During the European Indoor Championships in Vienna in March the Swedish team had every reason to rejoice. The winners of the medals from the indoor season are also now the main hope for the European Championship in Munich.

The line-up is led by the high-jumper Kajsa Bergqvist. This summer the attractive blonde already jumped 2.04 metres and is seen as a top candidate for gold. The witty indoor European champion, Staffan Strand, has also got his eyes set on the medals just like his colleague Stefan Holm, whilst triple jumper Christian Olsson would like to thwart the plans of the world record holder Jonathan Edwards. The Scandanavians are also sending a further three athletes to the Championship, notably Jimisola Laursen, Patrik Kristiansson und Carolina Klüft, who gave a convincing performance indoors in Vienna and have an outside chance of winning a medal in Munich too.
